Responsible Gambling

OddsRoute never places bets — we compare and route, you bet at your own risk. We are not a sportsbook and we never hold your money. Every bet is one you choose to place yourself, in your own account, at a third-party book or prediction market.
Betting should be entertainment — something you do for fun with money you can afford to lose. It is not a way to make income, fix a bad day, or win back money you've already lost. If it stops being fun, it's time to step away.
The ground rules
- 21+ only. You must be 21 or older (or the legal age where you live, if higher) to bet real money. Don't use OddsRoute to route bets otherwise.
- Bet for entertainment, never to chase losses. Chasing losses — betting more to win back what you lost — is the fastest way for a hobby to become a problem. Set a limit before you start and stop when you hit it.
- Only bet what you can afford to lose. Never bet money you need for rent, bills, food, or family. Never borrow to bet.
- Don't bet to escape. Betting when you're stressed, upset, or under the influence leads to decisions you'll regret.
- Take breaks. Betting is not a job and there's no bet you have to make.

Warning signs
It may be time to reach out if you:
- Bet more than you planned, or more to feel the same excitement.
- Try to win back losses by betting more (chasing).
- Bet money meant for bills, or borrow money to bet.
- Lie about, or hide, how much you bet.
- Feel restless, anxious, or irritable when you try to cut back.
- Find betting is hurting your work, sleep, mood, or relationships.
Tools to stay in control
- Self-exclusion. Every licensed sportsbook and prediction market offers self-exclusion — you can bar yourself for a set period or permanently. Look for "Responsible Gaming," "Self-Exclusion," or deposit/time limits in your account settings at the book itself, or ask the National Problem Gambling Helpline (1-800-522-4700) to walk you through it.
- Deposit, time, and loss limits. Most books let you cap how much you can deposit or how long you can play. Set them before you need them.
- Blocking software. Tools like Gamban and GamBlock can block betting sites and apps on your devices.
- Learn more. The National Council on Problem Gambling (ncpgambling.org) has resources, and Gamblers Anonymous (gamblersanonymous.org) offers peer support.
How OddsRoute fits in
OddsRoute is a comparison and routing tool. We show you which book or prediction market pays the most for a bet you were already going to make — we don't encourage you to bet more, and we never place or take a bet. The decision, the money, and the risk are always yours. Please bet responsibly.
